If you’re taking some time to read this, chances are you’re leading people. After all, leaders are readers. Leading people is one of the greatest joys in my life, and I have had the chance to lead quite a few people. It’s amazing to get to watch someone be better than they were before, meet goals, exceed expectations, and become a leader themselves. Once you’ve had a chance to do it once, you want to continue to do it over and over. Before you grow your leadership – ask yourself these 2 questions:
Am I Ready For The Spotlight?
While leading people isn’t always front and center, it often is, and while everyone has a bad day as a leader you’re not afforded the options that others have. By no means am I saying to be fake and unauthentic – I am a huge believer that not being ok is ok – we all need help at times, but as a leader, you have to make it a point to choose positivity and lead well despite your current positioning.
Am I Ready To Help Others Achieve Their Goals
One thing that is often forgotten is that a leader is there to lead. Profound, I know. Your newest goal is to help people meet their goals. That means putting aside your own preferences and at times even your leadership styles to help people achieve results. Last week I realized that in order to lead leaders that I had to digest and produce content worth reading. That’s a daunting task, but I’m committed to helping you be better.
I love leadership – I want you to be a better leader – enjoy the opportunity you’ve been given.
